Tips From Flowski Pix

Photo Buying Tips

Your pictures came out wonderful and you want to buy a nice photography package. Here are some helpful photo buying tips from flowski to get the most out of your images.

  • Cool Idea for Ski Photos- When you frame your photos, put your lift ticket from the trip between the photo and the backing. Many years from now when someone opens up the back, they will really get a kick out of it.
  • Put a Name with The Face- Very carefully, write the date and names of the people in the photo on the back of it, also write our website FlowskiPix.com on the back, just in case you want to re-order years from now, since we long term archive all images, if you ever need to replace a damaged photograph or if your getting crafty and you want one for a project you'll remember where to get one.
  • Size Matters- Get the right size print or photo enlargement for the right location. Think about where the photo would look best in the house or office and order an appropriate size photo for that spot. If your framing it and hanging it on the wall get one large enough so that visitors to your home can easily see it without having to get up and look at it. If your putting it on an end table or in an album a 5"x7" or an 8"x10" is probably big enough since the viewer will be closer. You can get a smaller one on the close up photos, and still have a reasonable image size. On the full length group photo, the rule of thumb is to get a larger print, so that you can see everyone in the photo when you view it from more a few feet away.
  • Photo Packages- All our photos are sold ala carte, but you can still put together a nice arrangement by selecting a variety of different sizes among the many your photographer took. A classic photo display that really looks nice on the wall is to group a selection of photos from the same event, together in a variety of sizes all with matching frames. Start with a nice big print, an 11"x14" or 20"x24" of your favorite picture. Then hang another photo next to it, this one being the next size smaller. Finish up by hanging some more smaller photos from your photo shoot above or below the medium sized photo for a nice balance to the display. Another popular arrangement is to choose a few photos and order your prints all the same size, put them in matching frames and arrange them in a step pattern on your wall.
  • Fun Photo Gifts- Specialty Items are very popular right now. You can have your image printed on coasters, sweatshirts, coffee mugs, fridge magnets, tote bags and aprons. Even a puzzle for your coffee table! When you get to the gallery just click on Photo Gifts in the shopping cart area. Yes, we sell wallet size too! In sets of 4, they are under "specialty prints".
  • Digital Downloads- If you'd like more than one copy of an image, please order what you need, or purchase the original digital image download from us. Much the same as music artists who get paid when they sell their work. When someone copies their artwork (recording) they lose the proceeds from that sale. Unlike the musicians, the market for our product is limited to you, not millions of people and unauthorized duplication impacts us directly. Remember all of our artwork is copyright protected, unless you purchase the digital image download from us. Thank You for understanding.
